Athletic Department Mission Statement

The Athletic Department’s mission is to provide a well-rounded and positive educational and competitive athletic experience for all students seeking an opportunity to participate in intercollegiate athletics. We provide a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for all students we recruit as athletes. We emphasize a culture of acceptance, accountability, and connectedness, to assist each student in helping them reach both their educational and athletic goals. We strive to provide open accessibility to all student resources to support and ensure our athletes can achieve and maintain academic and athletic success while attending College of the Redwoods, with an emphasis on preparing them to transfer and continue their academic and athletic careers.

All Athletic Department functions support the college mission of providing accessible and relevant educational and athletic programs which promote and emphasize student achievement standards, lifelong learning, skill development, and readiness for transfer. The department’s recruiting efforts bring a welcomed diversity to the college and help close equity gaps while providing a safe, inclusive, and competitive learning environment. Our department goal remains dedicated to outperforming and increasing district averages in academic success, retention, persistence, and graduation rate percentages.
